What’s therapy with me like?

I’ve been in your shoes- I know what it’s like to share deeply personal things with a therapist and do the messy work of healing. I fully understand how uncomfortable and scary it can be, and I honor that courage I see in you.

I won’t just listen to you ramble and then say, “How does that make you feel?”…although I will ask you about your feelings a lot! Sometimes I quote Taylor Swift lyrics and random poems, sometimes there’s a meme or TikTok that *has* to be addressed. I love back-and-forth dialogue and have a knack for asking just the right thing at the right time (my clients frequently say “Woah- that’s a great question!”).

My clients love working with me because I’m easygoing, collaborative, and interactive, and I make therapy feel safe, warm, and fun. I am deeply intuitive and love helping you “connect the dots” and untangle the complicated bundle of beliefs, experiences, and emotions that come from living through trauma. I’m able to bring my own lived experience to the table in a safe and boundaried way, and I draw on that to support you through your journey. I work from a systemic, intersectional, anti-oppressive lens, and I’m not afraid to tackle things like racism, sexism, ableism, fatphobia, etc. in session. 

Some sessions we might focus on building coping skills and finding better ways to communicate; others we might talk a lot about emotion expression and regulation. Sometimes we will explore past experiences that have impacted your life. Some days we will ask questions; some days we will find answers.

Above all else, I’m going to empower you to take charge of your own healing. I have so much hope for you, and I wholeheartedly believe that you are capable of overcoming whatever life is throwing at you <3

I am deeply committed to antiracist and LGBTQIA+ inclusive work and advocacy, both professionally and personally. I am a HAES (Health At Every Size) informed human being, and ALL people in ALL bodies are welcome in this space. I am neurodivergence affirming and believe in depathologizing our humanity as much as possible.
